–Rush Limbaugh, Coca-Cola, Mr. Potatohead and Dr. Seuss in the span of a week. If you don’t believe this onslaught is intentional, you’re not paying attention. This is what demoralization looks like. Because every white person is a hateful bigot descended of slave owners who benefited by oppression and systemic racism. It’s the destruction of a nation. One deliberately chosen piece of tradition at a time.

–They’re not canceling Dr. Seuss because he was an inveterate racist whose hatred dripped from his writing. They’re canceling him because he wasn’t and it didn’t. His books harken to a colorblind and universal aspiration to human goodness, kindness, dignity and equality. They spring with joyful innocence and mirth from the very heart of what America once was and will never be again. The version of America they’ve endeavored to kill. And erase from history.

The unifying treatise of Theodore Geisel’s work, readily loved and understood by the youngest child, is that no matter what color we are, no matter small or large, hairy or bald, skinny or fat, bearded or shorn, we all matter. Equally. And we should all treat each other accordingly.

Dr. Seuss’s life and bibliography in three words would be, “All Lives Matter,” and as we know, for the cruel practitioners of the psychosis that is hyper-woke culture and the concerted punishment and denigration of white people, “All Lives Matter,” is intolerable Kryptonite to their aims. When your woke agenda demands the coming injustice of reparations and the incessant demonization of white Judeo-Christian culture, the last thing you need is a voice as pure and timelessly prescient as Dr. Seuss, reminding impressionable minds of the universal brotherhood of mankind.
