FBI: Black Friday 2019 2nd Largest Gun Sales Background Check Day in Nation’s History
The FBI reports handling more than 200,000 firearms purchase background checks on Black Friday 2019, making for the 2nd busiest gun purchasing day in United States history.
With a Democrat Presidential field fully intent on gun confiscation and even Republicans expressing support for preemptive ‘Red Flag’ gun confiscation laws, 2019 has seen the most virulent anti-gun public policy rhetoric in American history and a landmark decision clearing the way for gun manufacturers to be sued for mass shootings. And 2nd Amendment Americans are responding by purchasing guns in record numbers.
Friday after Thanksgiving gun sales topped the list for the largest single day of FBI background checks except for one: Black Friday 2017.
For the first time since the Bureau started handling the checks in 1998, monthly background purchase requests have not fallen below 2-million in any month this year, putting 2019 on pace to be the busiest gun buying year in American history potentially surpassing the 27.5-million mark set in 2016.
