You had to really be listening to hear it. Some ten minutes following the House vote rejecting Republican objections to certifying Arizona’s fraudulent election result, amid the din of scuffling traitors, thieves and shirkers of Constitutional duty, a voice somehow cuts through the milieu on the raw PBS feed, in a side conversation on public broadcasting, but clearly not meant for public consumption.

“This too shall pass.” And laughter. A deal struck. A challenge turned aside. A monumental fraud, preserved intact.

And how glibly those nonchalant words both perfectly and insufficiently encapsulate the events of a day of chaos and tragedy. How perfectly they evidence the blase ignorance of import that characterizes the sadsack cowardice of America’s staggered institutions that should rightly defend our nation from such an ignoble epilogue, but have failed us at every turn. But then, you can’t expect the traitors to own their shame.

Are we naive children to the very end?

America learned and reinforced a number of heartbreaking lessons Wednesday. A day that began with the promising words of our most embattled President still fighting against all odds for the life of the Republic and outlining in stark detail the dozens of avenues to a stolen 2020 Presidential election. The crime of all time.

A day that saw an unarmed 14-year Air Force veteran fighting for her life after being shot by Capitol Police, choking on her own life’s blood as her eyes fixed in a distant stare and faded into darkness. Faithful to her oath until the end. Ashli Babbitt, a 14-year veteran from San Diego who served 4 tours with the US Air Force as a high-level security officer bled to death in the hallway of “the People’s House.”

Say her name. Ashli Babbitt.

A day that saw American patriots intent on peaceful protest, deceived and gaslit once again, blamed for the treachery of the George Soros Black Bloc of ANTIFA, whose infiltrators were given police escorts into D.C., a nearly free pass into the Capitol hallways and then, a final free pass of moral sanction by the insidiously profligate mainstream press who ignored identities and instead blamed their lawless violence on MAGA nation.

And even there, poetic microcosm of America’s sabotaged slide into the Marxist abyss: Guileless patriots, perpetually guilty of projecting their kindness, reverence for fair play and honorable intentions onto opponents willing to break every rule for political advantage.

Because in a lawless land, only the innocent are imperiled.

It was a day that saw a Vice President reveal both his cowardice and his complicity in an evil plot, betraying the man who gave him impossible victory and giving aid and comfort to those most committed to destroying and deposing Donald Trump.

Previously guilty of twice scheming to wrest the reins from his Commander in Chief, once in collusion with Nikki Haley during the Ukrainian impeachment farce and in 2016 when establishment cronies dreamed of Trump’s downfall after the Access Hollywood scandal, Vice President Mike Pence set his legacy of disloyalty and simpering abdication in historic stone. He is a despicable and loathsome man, if he is a man any longer.

It was a day that saw one of the staunchest defenders of the Republic supplicate himself to an asinine pretzel pose of illogic, effectively arguing that Congressional invalidation of election fraud is a violation of the Constitution, but unconstitutional changes to election rules allowing the fraud are not.

Apparently in Rand Paul’s Constitution, election fraud is a valid exercise of the time, place, manner and methods apportioned to states regarding the conduction of their elections….even if the groundwork for that fraud is laid unilaterally by the Secretary of State or an activist judge, rather than by the state legislatures as clearly stipulated in the Constitution. A day turned to night that would finally see the ultimate rewarding of an arch-criminal, wanted by Ukraine for the depth of his graft, paid for a lifetime with Iscariot tender and now endowed with the most powerful office in a free world struggling and failing to remain free.

And there, amid the rustling piles of leaves swirling in strengthening gale around the Tree of Liberty, voices ancient and wizened and long forgotten whisper watchword of warning in the rising winds of a coming storm. If you listen closely, you can hear it…

“If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?”

“A Republic, madam, if you can keep it.”

And as all things do, whether rich or wretched or incomparably blessed as a nation set apart as a lamplight of human liberty both at home and around the world…….this too, shall pass.

Only God Himself can avert that now.
