WATCH: Barbasol KILLS Gillette With New World War II TV Spot, ‘Shave Like a Man’
After their suicidal foray into the business of insulting every male customer ever to use their product in a recent man-shaming television spot, the carnage continues for men’s shave product giant Gillette as competitor Barbasol delivers an advertising knockout punch, direct from the Allied western front of World War II.
In the advertisement, our collective “Great Granddad” reminds millennial morons that he didn’t win their freedoms in mortal combat so that they could insult celebrities on social media. Pausing briefly to nonchalantly retrieve a German “potato masher” baton grenade and toss it back into enemy fire, great grandpa delivers a Barbasol tagline that should make Gillette’s # METOO marketing team wince all the way down to their tampons and glittery toenail polish.
“So, listen hashtag,” the soldier says. “If you’re not going to fight like a man, at least shave like a man.”
